NHS Ayrshire & Arran have led the way in Scotland for pharmacy and prescribing developments with the introduction of electronic prescribing in the late 1990s and their ongoing commitment to developing strategies to support benefits realisation.  The team have led and contributed to a number of award winning and published pieces of work and regularly collaborate regionally and nationally to optimise use and benefits of the system.  In addition the team provides ongoing training and support to system users and provides and analyses data on prescribing in secondary and primary care to support the safe and effective use of medicines across our health and care system. 

An exciting opportunity has arisen to lead the electronic prescribing team and to further develop their remit and skills to encompass digital health as it relates to pharmacy and medicines.  You will have the  opportunity to further develop your leadership and management skills and to lead the wider pharmacy team in exploring the opportunities associated with distributed working.   

   

It is essential you have excellent communication, interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively as part of the multidisciplinary team.


Hours: 37.5hrs per week


You will be required to participate in departmental rotas including electronic prescribing on call, weekends and extended hours.


A car driver is essential for this post.
