An exciting opportunity has arisen for the role of Charge Nurse in Ward 4, Larkfield Unit and Willow ward, Orchard View. As an integral member of the multi-disciplinary team, the post-holder will work in partnership, demonstrating compassionate caring behaviours to fulfil the key functions of the inpatient wards/departments. Applications are sought from nurses who have previous experience or an interest in the care of adults with complex mental health problems. In particular the post-holder will be responsible for the assessment, care planning, implementation and evaluation of complex nursing care programmes using a strength based, recovery focused approach. The post holder is required to be able to undertake duties without direct supervision, supporting and supervising work undertaken by registered and unregistered nursing staff, as well as taking charge in the absence of the Senior Charge Nurse. The post holder is responsible for proactively promoting partnership working with patients, carers and other professionals/ agencies in line with legislative frameworks, agreed standards and clinical policies.
The post holder will be a Registered Mental Health Nurse with current NMC registration and have robust and relevant experience of working as a Band 5 Mental Health Nurse.
The shift pattern is; Early: 7am – 3pm, Late: 1.30pm-9.30pm & Nightshift: 9.15pm-7.15am
Please note this ward may also operate a 12hour shift rotation at present :7am-7.15pm and 7pm-7.15am.
