Do you want to be at the forefront of transforming pharmacy in hospital services?
NHS Fife Pharmacy Services are delighted to offer a new and unique opportunity for an experienced pharmacy technician to shape the delivery of digital pharmacy services in our hospitals.
Our leadership team aspires to be the best pharmacy service in NHS Scotland. We are committed to achieving this both by delivering the best care for patients and their medicines, and by being felt to be the best place to work by the whole team. It is an exciting time to join the team as we commit to fully integrating pharmacy services across primary and secondary care.
NHS Fife has ambitious plans to be the first ‘fully digital’ pharmacy service in Scotland, with significant investment secured for the coming years. This role will contribute in the design, build, and implementation of several initiatives, including Hospital Electronic Prescribing and Medicines Administration (HEPMA), end to end automation of the medicines supply chain, and closed loop administration and dispensing.
You will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of all pharmacy clinical systems to maximise the benefits to the patients of NHS Fife. Working collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team you will support the improvement of both patient care and safety throughout the patient journey.
This is an exciting opportunity for a forward thinking pharmacy technician looking to join the team introducing and developing a completely new culture of prescribing and medicines use. Good team working, communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
This post will initially be based at the Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy, however the pharmacy department within NHS Fife operates as an integrated team and there may be a requirement to work across NHS Fife when required. Currently, the Digital & Information team are working remotely, and it is recognised that this role will require an element of remote working.
You will be part of the pharmacy team contributing to rotas for 7 day working, public holidays and the on call pharmacy service.
