This is an exciting opportunity to join an AHP-led service acting as a single point of access for all COVID-19 rehabilitation referrals, including those who have been admitted to hospital, those who are post-Intensive Care and also those who have managed within the community setting not requiring a hospital stay.
As a new service, this position offers a unique experience in developing the physiotherapy role in rehabilitation delivery with concurrent commitments to the post-holder's personal development.
Please note this is a fixed term post for 24 months. Where a post only has temporary funding and an existing member of NHS Lanarkshire staff wishes to apply, this will be treated as a secondment. The employee MUST already have had agreement from their line manager to be released on a secondment before applying for the post.
Takes a lead role for a designated clinical area with a caseload incorporating patient assessment, diagnosis, treatment and discharge. Has responsibility for the supervision, education and development of more junior staff, physiotherapy support workers and students within the speciality.
Provides a specialised resource to other healthcare staff/patients/carers.
Has active involvement in Clinical Governance and Clinical Effectiveness and Research.
- First level Degree in Physiotherapy equivalent or equivalent masters in rehabilitation sciences leading to physiotherapy HPC registration
- Current HPC registration
- Relevant experience.
- Demonstrable advance in clinical skills/knowledge, from postgraduate courses/in service, as evidenced in Continued Professional Development portfolio.
- Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the speciality.
- Excellent communication skills verbal written and communication including presentation skills
- Specialist knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies and procedures associated with the speciality.
- Working knowledge of basic IT – e.g. word processing, use of internet, database management
