Clinical Support Worker post within a forensic mental health unit. Post holder must have previous experience of working with people who have mental health or learning disability issues. Awareness of direct patient care, skilled observations and health and safety at work are required. Post holder will be required to work shifts within an in-patient environment and be aware of confidentiality and professional behaviours. This is a full time permanent position based at Beckford Lodge, Hamilton.
To undertake care duties for patients in support of and delegated by the Registered Nurse, within a hospital or community setting. The post-holder will require to work without direct supervision on a regular basis, referring to the registered nurse as required.
Ideally the post holder will have knowledge of issues affecting patients being cared for in forensic mental health setting, social, recreational and therapeutic activity suitable for specific client group, the ability to participate in discussion and planning of social, recreational and therapeutic activity for client group and the ability to work with client group with challenging behaviours.
The post holder will have a SVQ III in healthcare, or working towards, or equivalent experience working within a caring environment/role, the ability to work with people and as part of a multidisciplinary/agency team, effective written and verbal communication skills ability to carry out assigned patient care tasks effectively within a busy environment, the ability to work unsupervised, to actively participate in the Personal Development Plan process to fulfil the requirements of continuing professional development.and a working knowledge of basic information technology.
