Trainee/Student District Nurse Band 5
(Progressing to band 6 District Nurse on successful completion of the programme)
To undertake study to meet the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) professional standards for:
Specialist Practitioner Qualification (SPQ) Community Nurse in the Home
(District Nursing)
Are you a dynamic, hardworking and innovative staff nurse? Are you ready to become a student again? We are currently offering permanent contracts and funding for course fees, in preparation for taking on a key role in delivering the community health agenda in Lothian.
Successful candidates will be invited to study on either a part time basis of between 30-37.5 hours across 2 years or a full time basis for 1 year. A range of opportunities and locations will be discussed at interview.
You will progress to Specialist Practitioner District Nurse (Band 6) on successful completion of the programme. Graduates will be expected to consolidate practice within the District Nursing Service for two years post registration.
