An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated individual to join our team as Legal Services Manager, responsible for leading and managing NHS Fife Board’s legal services. 

You will have significant experience of working within a legal environment and hold a specialist paralegal certificate in reparation law or similar qualification; in-depth knowledge of legislation and legal matters pertaining to health services; working knowledge of FAI legislation; working knowledge of GDPR/Data Protection Act 2018 and Access to Health Records Act 1990.

You will have excellent written communication skills and report writing ability, with the ability to provide wide-ranging advice on medico-legal issues, with analytical skills and a clear ability to produce statistical information, as required.

The Legal Services Department is a small, but busy department which is responsible for the management of legal claims intimated against Fife Health Board, complying with Court Orders and Specification of Documents and processing requests for copy health records from solicitors, Procurators Fiscal and Police Scotland.  The Department is responsible for managing Fatal Accident & Sudden Death Inquiries in which NHS Fife is an involved and interested party, and all other legal intimations and challenges which involve the organisation.
