The core purpose of the Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service is to meet the transfusion needs of patients in Scotland.  In support of this, the SNBTS Tissues, Cells and Advanced Therapeutics (TCAT) Directorate is committed to a programme that will enhance the service provided to NHS Scotland in both clinical and operational areas, through the provision of a range of tissue, cellular and advanced therapy medicinal products.  SNBTS also undertakes research and development which is designed to support the strategic and operational priorities of the organisation, achieve high quality and impact and add value to broader NHS and Governmental objectives.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the SNBTS TCAT Directorate as the GMP Resource and Facility Manager for the service. The successful candidate for this new post will be integral to the efficient running of all GMP activities at the Jack Copland Centre and other sites in Edinburgh, with specific responsibility for all GMP resource, equipment and manufacturing/QC facilities pertaining to TCAT products, procedures and controlled environments. The post holder will have a variety of responsibilities including facility and budgetary management, coordinating the GMP resource requirements for a range of internal and external services or projects to strict timelines, and line management of a team of support staff.

The successful candidate must be educated to degree level with a relevant postgraduate qualification or equivalent competence/experience. In addition, the post holder must have significant managerial experience and demonstrable specialist knowledge and experience in the management of aseptic manufacturing facilities and controlled environments.
