Clinical Quality Data Analyst
Band 5 (1.0WTE)
Base: Dykebar Hospital/ Glasgow Royal Infirmary (to be negotiated)

This post provides an exciting opportunity to make a contribution to improving the quality of care in NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC). You will work within the Clinical Governance Support Unit (CGSU), which supports NHSGGC to lead on improving high quality, safe, effective, person-centred healthcare.
The Communication, Analytics, Reporting and Evaluation (CARE) team have a fundamental role in ensuring the spread of improvement across the organisation, and in providing assurance, through the development of structures for shared learning, evidence based practice, and reporting. As a relatively new team, it is an exciting time to join and help drive this work forward within the Board.
The clinical informatics work plan is focused on progressing the use of healthcare analytics and quality indicators to aid improvement. You will play a key role in this by structuring, retrieving and presenting clinical quality information and data; and helping clinicians to interact with and understand the data and information presented. A main area of focus is on data visualisation and in developing data dashboards, so skills and experience in this area would be beneficial, as would a background in statistics, or in managing and analysing data. Knowledge and experience of R Studio and programming, Power BI, and data mining would also be helpful.
To excel as a team member, you should bring the following to this role:
• A professional qualification and/or educated to degree level, or able to demonstrate equivalent experience.
• Experience of all aspects of project planning, and an ability to prioritise and manage workload
• Skilled in managing and analysing data, with experience in developing data sets and information flows, and in data handling and analysis – with data dashboards being a key area of focus
• Experience of producing reports, including written, numerical and graphical information
• Experience of working in and with teams.
• Problem solving skills, and an ability to “think outside the box”
• High level of communication skills, including oral skills, written skills and interpersonal skills.
• Good organisational and time management skills, with an ability to work autonomously and use own initiative
• Highly literate in PC use, with excellent working knowledge and understanding of the Microsoft office package
Experience of working in the NHS, and knowledge of the NHS’s clinical quality information systems would be advantageous.
The shift pattern is; Mon-Fri 9-5pm
