Dental Receptionist – Public Dental Service (Ref 67552)
Substantive
Part Time – 30 hours per week
Band 3 - Salary Range £21,709 - £23,603 per annum pro-rata
Plus Distant Islands Allowance of £1,971 per annum (pro rata)
Working within our Dental Health Centres, you will provide reception and clerical support for our busy dental service. The successful applicants will split their working week between the Lerwick and Brae areas, with the proviso to cover the island locations (Whalsay and Yell).
The post will involve working with a range of different people both face-to-face and over the phone, including Dentists, Nurses, professional agencies and, most importantly, the public. You will have responsibility for maintaining accurate and confidential patient information as well as dealing with payments and other enquiries.
We are looking for candidates with experience of working in an office environment, who have achieved at least Standard Grade or equivalent in Maths and English. With excellent communication skills and the ability to work with numerical data, you should also be able to demonstrate good keyboard and general IT aptitude. Above all, we are looking for a friendly and enthusiastic individual with a flexible and proactive approach.
