TEACHING FELLOW IN PHYSICIAN ASSOCAITE STUDIES

We are seeking a Teaching Fellow, with qualifications and experience working as a Physician Associate and some experience of clinical skills teaching and assessment, to support the team of academic and professional services staff in the delivery of our Masters in Physician Associate Studies.
The School of Medicine, Medical Sciences and Nutrition (SMMSN) is proud to deliver the only programme in Scotland that provides a pathway to a career as a Physician Associate. This two-year full-time programme has had over 130 graduates over the last decade and continues to grow. Currently there are around 25 students per cohort.
You will be part of the Masters in Physician Associate Studies team and other clinical skills staff who undertake the delivery and assessment of clinical method teaching in the Physician Associate and other health care programmes. This will involve teaching of communication, examination, common clinical procedural and clinical reasoning skills. Predominantly the teaching will be delivered in the Suttie Centre for Teaching and Learning in Healthcare. You will also contribute to the organisation and delivery of PA teaching and assessment, student support, teaching initiatives, and teaching administration. This will involve face-to-face, practical and online teaching, course coordination, project supervision and contribution to course and curriculum development. There will be some clinical skills teaching delivery for other healthcare students e.g. MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice students and medical students.
Support will be given to allow the post holder(s) to continue to develop their teaching and curriculum management skills and to participate in the wider educational work of the School.
The position is for up to 0.4FTE but those wishing to work a minimum of 0.2FTE will be considered.
Salary will be at the appropriate point on the Grade 6 salary scale (40% of £34,304- £40,927 per annum, pro rata) and negotiable with placement according to qualifications and experience.
