Senior Health Intelligence Analyst (Cancer)

We are looking for a Band 6 Cancer Health Intelligence Senior Analyst to support the North Cancer Alliance with service improvement activities across the six North of Scotland health boards and three cancer centres.

This will include mapping of services across the whole pathway with particular focus on surgery, primary care & secondary care interfaces and follow-up care.

Based on the regional strategic approach this work will support the risk-based action planning across a number of cancer services, developed as part of the National Cancer Quality programme. The intelligence work required will be closely linked to the activities of the NCA and its constituent groups. 

The key defining aspect of this post are to; 
•    provide health intelligence across the health system to support cancer 
•    strengthen partnership arrangements for intelligence within the North of Scotland  
•    develop the intelligence base to support service delivery change    
This North of Scotland post will support strategic development and planning of cancer services through provision of intelligence and health profiling.

The postholder will support team efforts in contributing to cancer data work across the North of Scotland to provide complex intelligence and to promote the use of an evidence base for informed strategic planning and decision-making. This requires specialist knowledge of statistics, epidemiology and information analysis. The postholder will be required to interrogate a large number of systems, some of which will be new areas of accessing data, to ensure a full picture is gained of cancer in the North.  

The postholder will strengthen intelligence links with other boards across the North of Scotland aiming to combine health intelligence for the benefit of population health planning in relation to cancer.
