ASSISTANT SERVICES MANAGER – CANCER SERVICES
37.5 HOURS PER WEEK, FULL TIME
FIXED TERM / SECONDMENT OPPORTUNITY UP UNTIL END MARCH 2022
Salary Scale: Band 7 : £40,872 to £47,846 per annum
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Service Manager to join the Medical Team at Raigmore Hospital undertaken specific responsibilities for the timely management of Cancer patients. Candidates who are absolutely committed to enhancing patient care, through the efficient and effective management of clinical services within Raigmore Hospital, Inverness, are encouraged to apply.
The Job Description is generic in terms of breadth but the job is specific in terms of its objective with an exciting work load support the Cancer Services Manager and Board’s Lead Clinician to esnure compliance with Government’s Effective Cancer Management Framework the introduction of a new Cancer Tracking System and the development of a modern Cancer Centre. . This incorporates operational, strategic and quality aspects associated with the service.
The post holder will also, as part of a team of multi-disciplinary staff, provide a service for Raigmore Hospital in line with the strategy for NHS Highland. This will include medical, allied health professionals, nursing and clerical staff. You will work with colleagues in the hospital and across NHS Highland in developing a vision for allocated services, leading ongoing review and redesign of the service to meet the needs of patients in an efficient and cost effective manner. You will be responsible for supporting the business of the Medical Division including analysis of demand and capacity, waiting time delivery and supporting all aspects of service management within a strong framework of financial governance whilst adhering to the qualities laid out in the Highland Quality Approach.
Applicants must be able to demonstrate a real commitment to working across all relevant aspects of the service, showing an ability to enthuse, motivate and give commitment to meeting exacting deadlines. Previous experience of working with clinical teams is essential along with evidence of excellent analytical, organisational and communication skills. A demonstrable commitment to improving the services we provide to patients is absolutely essential.
