In order to meet increasing demand for our services, NSS Digital & Security (DaS) are seeking to appoint a National Programme Director to oversee an exciting, transformational and highly strategic programme of work focused on implementing the world’s most comprehensive clinical terminology standard SNOMED CT throughout NHS Scotland’s national IT & digital estate. The programme will ultimately deliver benefits to patients, clinicians and our wider population whilst supporting evidence based care.
We are looking for a candidate with outstanding leadership qualities that has authentic gravitas, are strategic thinkers, have excellent relationship building and management skills, & have a track record of delivering successful, outcomes focused, large scale / National IT & digital change initiatives.
The National Programme Director will provide strategic leadership and have accountability for the establishment and management of multidisciplinary programme and project teams that will drive effective collaborative working on a national scale. Directing this high profile national SNOMED CT implementation programme, you will be responsible for leading and directing your team to achieve outstanding levels of performance & the successful delivery of programme objectives & agreed national outcomes. You will be responsible for developing and managing a programme management framework and governance structure that will deliver whole system national change across the NHS Scotland IT / digital estate.
You will join us at a challenging but exciting time as we continue to support the NHS and social care system in responding to the COVID pandemic and the remobilisation of the broader NHS system in Scotland.
The post holder will report to the Director of Portfolio Services, and will be responsible for achieving agreed successful outcomes & benefits realisation for associated programmes and projects.
