An exciting opportunity has arisen for the Post of Staff Nurse Band 5 in the Peritoneal Dialysis Unit at QEUH. The Peritoneal Dialysis Unit trains patients with to carry out Peritoneal Dialysis in their home environment, and monitors and facilitates ongoing care needs within the community and renal wards. We require a Staff Nurse to work within the nursing team, to deliver a high standard of person centred care and support for this patient group.You will work within a multi-professional environment, supporting the delivery of a high quality service. This role will encompass teaching patients to become independent in carrying out their own treatment, so patience and an ability to communicate across a diverse patient group is essential. Applicants need to be prepared to undertake lone working as there is community visiting, and nurse led clinics at other centres. A car driver is essential for visiting patients at home. Renal experience is preferred, but not essential as training will be provided. Applicants must have up to date NMC registration.
