Job Advert

The post holder will provide a clinical leadership role within a specialised maternity area which includes Early Pregnancy Assessment Service, Prenatal Screening, Thrombophilia clinic and recurrent pregnancy loss clinic. Provides advice on specialised matters relating to Perinatal care.


Additional Information Specific to the Role


Provides pre-pregnancy and prenatal related counselling skills, acts as a resource to the wider midwifery team.


Undertakes an autonomous ultrasound scanning role in early pregnancy in relation to viability and diagnosis


Assists with specialised procedures, including amniocentesis, chorionic villus sampling, amnio-reduction and amino-infusion.


Provide booking and antenatal care to high risk women including all, thrombophillia and other medical conditions.



KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED TO DO THE JOB


Registered Midwife on Part 10 of the NMC Register or Registered Nurse Part 1 of the NMC Register

Educated to/working towards/operating at Degree Level

Post graduate expertise within speciality / area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge required to lead safety, effectively and efficiently. 

Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the speciality / area of practice.

Specialist knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies and procedures associated with the speciality/area of practice ensuring that the level of expertise can be utilised to deliver leadership within speciality / area of practice.

Management qualification or equivalent gained through experience and continuous professional development

Further education/evidence of Continuous Professional Development in area of speciality including study days/courses/post graduate qualification

The post holder will possess excellent team-working/leadership skills and have the ability to motivate others and work using own initiative

Excellent listening, communication and interpersonal skills.

Effective time management skills

Working knowledge of basic information technology
