An exciting opportunity has arisen for Registered Nurses experienced/non experienced to work within the three acute NHS Lanarkshire Hospitals. 

The post holder will be a Registered Nurse who will deliver the highest quality of health care and will be responsible and accountable for providing skilled nursing interventions as appropriate. The post holder will ensure a person centered approach to care delivery which is safe and effective to ensure and maintain quality strategy.

These posts will be supported by a structured timetable of study days. The aim will be to deliver key theory, clinical skills and simulation that underpin the national critical care competencies.

The post holder will be supported by the nurse consultant for critical care and ICU Senior Charge Nurses across NHSL. This also provides a great opportunity for colleagues to network, develop and access all ICU specialties and potentially other vital critical care experiences

The post holder will be expected to provide an accessible, appropriate, high quality and effective care service to all age groups, working in partnership with patients, care providers and other agencies. The successful candidate must be a Registered Nurse with valid NMC Registration required to demonstrate excellent team working skills with the ability to work using own initiative, possessing effective listening, communication and interpersonal skills 

As part of a multidisciplinary team, the post holder will have responsibility for assessment of care needs and the development of programmes of care, and/or the implementation and evaluation of these programmes ensuring the delivery of high quality care to patients.

The post holder is expected to carry out all relevant forms of care without direct supervision.  The post holder may be required to demonstrate procedures to and supervise registered and/or unregistered staff, as well as student nurses.

Duties may vary with the type of ward/department and the degree of patient dependency

The post holder will direct, coordinate and supervise, where appropriate, the work of other staff within the ward or department to promote best practice in relation to patient care.

In the absence of the senior charge nurse/team leader, or deputy, the post holder will provide cover to ensure effective operation of the ward/department.
