An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented and motivated Pharmacist to join NHS Highland. This is a new post to lead on the expanded Vaccination and Immunisation programmes. The post is available full time.

NHS Highland serves a total population of around 325,000. You will be based in Inverness, the capital of the Highlands, renowned for its beauty and quality of life which offers a lifestyle only dreamt of in other parts of the country.

The post holder will provide professional pharmaceutical leadership as lead pharmacist for the vaccination programme, and be an active member of the Vaccination Service, in NHS Highland. They will be responsible for scoping delivery of specialist pharmaceutical public health services in relation to vaccination and immunisation in NHS Highland; lead on medicines governance in relation to vaccines in NHS Highland and provide expert clinical advice on vaccines for individual patients and provision of advice to clinical and non-clinical services within NHS Highland. The post holder will also lead on quality assurance of the pharmaceutical elements of the NHS Highland Vaccination Service;  produce education and training materials for the pharmaceutical elements of the vaccination service in NHS Highland; develop and lead on business planning and service development for the pharmaceutical elements of the vaccination service including vaccine holding centres and related facilities; ensure efficient use of vaccine in NHS Highland and support the vaccination planning programme within NHS Highland.

Applications are invited from pharmacists holding a BSc / MPharm with continuous registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) and also a post graduate MSc / Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy or MPH / Diploma in Public Health along with experience of hospital, primary care or public health pharmacy.
