This is a new and exciting opportunity to support children and young people with complex nutrition, intestinal failure and home parental nutrition. The Complex Nutrition CNS will be based in Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital and occasional travel will be required to Dundee and Inverness. This is a Fixed Term/Secondment for a period of 2 years.
The Complex Nutrition CNS will work with the dynamic multi-disciplinary team as part of the North of Scotland Gastroenterology Hepatology and Nutrition Network and will develop this new service across the network. Potential applicants must be enthusiastic, hardworking and motivated and should be able to prioritise workload to provide a high standard of nursing care in a variety of settings. Paediatric nursing experience is essential along with an interest in the gastroenterology speciality. Car driver and owner/access to a car is essential.
The Complex Nutrition CNS will report to and be supported by the Band 7 Gastroenterology CNS. The post holder will become part of a wider Clinical Nurse Specialist team that includes a variety of specialities. This requires working closely with other Clinical Nurse Specialists to provide a holistic approach to the specialist care of children and young people with long term conditions.
