The Roles
We are looking to recruit motivated and enthusiastic registered AfC Band 5 Mental Health Nurses-RMN to join our join our existing Nursing teams working in Adult and Older Adult Mental Health Inpatient Services. Our Registered Mental Health Nursing teams are integral members of a multidisciplinary team and we are seeking candidates who will work in partnership demonstrating compassionate caring behavior to fulfill the key functions of the inpatient ward /department.
You will be responsible for the assessment, care planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care programmes using a strength based recovery focused approach that proactively involves the person. As a statutory registered Mental Health Nurse-RMN you will directly contributes to safe, efficient service delivery and will be required to work across the mental health inpatient service (i.e. hospital site) providing nursing care that meets the needs of the service.
Reporting to and working closely with the Senior Charge Nurse you should also be able to work on your own merit supported by the wider nursing team. In addition you will have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to enable effective communication to the multidisciplinary team and other agencies involved in care delivery.
You will be working a fully rotational shift pattern over days, nights and weekends

- Dykebar Hospital
- Royal Alexandria Hospital
Greenock
- Inverclyde Royal Hospital Campus (Langhill Clinic & Orchard View & Larkfield Unit)
Dunbartonshire
- Dumbarton Joint Hospital
- Vale of Leven Hospital
Our Inpatient services provide mental health nursing care for:
- People requiring acute mental health care (i.e. adult & older adults)
- People requiring specialist mental health care (e.g. specialist dementia care/ intensive mental health care/ rehabilitation etc.)
- People requiring continued period of assessment, care and treatment for complex mental health care needs
To apply you will required to meet the essential criteria:
- You should hold current first level registration as an RMN with the NMC and be educated to degree level or equivalent
- Comply with NMC Professional Registration and keep up to date with current nursing practices
- Experience of prioritising and working in a dynamic and fast paced clinical working environment
- Good communication skills, (written and verbal) and dealing with sensitive issues relating to clinical practice
- Awareness of General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and its application within a clinical patient setting.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
