An exciting opportunity is available for a Specialist Occupational Therapist within the Medical Specialties at Glasgow Royal Infirmary. Medical Specialties is an integrated team where Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy work in partnership to provide holistic patient care within a large dynamic team. Responsibilities include carrying a complex clinical case load within allocated wards, providing daily support to rotational staff, assistant practitioner and support worker’s. The post holder will responsibility for the training, education and supervision of occupational therapy staff and students. Applicants must be able to demonstrate sound clinical reasoning skills, extensive experience within core occupational therapy skills and be able to prioritize clinical and non-clinical duties within a busy working environment. They should be able to demonstrate a self-motivated and dynamic approach, high professional commitment, a strong team-work ethic, and have previous experience of audit and service development. The post holder will be responsible to lead on the audit, evaluation and continuous development of the service. A minimum of 3 years post graduate experience is required for this post.
