The NHS Fife Pharmacy & Medicines Service is committed to transforming services to meet the needs of the people of Fife and has embarked on an ambitious programme of change to transform and integrate pharmacy services. It serves a population of approximately 380,000 people, and is provided by an integrated team of around 200 Pharmacy staff, including Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians, Support Workers, Nurses, and Administrators. The team work across Acute and Community hospital sites, General Practices, Mental Health services, and a range of specialist teams. Partnership working is at the core of our values, and we work closely with other members of the multi-disciplinary team, including our Community Pharmacy colleagues, to deliver the highest quality care for everyone in Fife.
The Medicines Supply Manager is a newly created post to reflect recent organizational changes within the NHS Fife Pharmacy & Medicines Service. Medicine supply is a core pharmacy function and our aim is for this service to be led and delivered by pharmacy technicians and pharmacy support staff, enabling development of a clear career pathway for all our pharmacy team members.
We are seeking a pharmacy technician who will be able to provide advice and support to the Head of Pharmacy Medicines Supply & Quality to develop and deliver the service. You will be a registered pharmacy technician with experience working at a senior level in an acute setting with proven leadership and management skills. You must be educated to degree level or be able to demonstrate evidence of knowledge, training and experience to that level. You will have extensive knowledge of the medicines supply chain including legislation and regulation. It is imperative you have excellent interpersonal and communication skills as this post requires significant interaction with the wider healthcare team.
