We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our dynamic team within Older People’s Service, North Sector. You will be predominately based within the rehab wards at Lightburn Hospital but may be asked to support other areas within our service. Our Team also covers acute assessment wards at GRI, rehab ward at Stobhill Hospital and Day Hospitals at Stobhill and Lightburn. This opportunity rarely becomes available.
The role will involve assessment, treatment and discharge planning of older people over the age of 65 who present with multiple pathologies including Dementia, Parkinson’s Disease and falls. Please see the job profile for further details,
The post holder will contribute to the evaluation and development of the occupational therapy service within their designated area with reference to clinical governance, clinical effectiveness and national policies and drivers. This will require the post holder to lead/support on departmental and team projects.
Essential

  • Diploma/Degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • Registered with the HCPC.
  • Must hold or gain a practice education qualification.
  • Up to date mandatory and statutory training record e.g. Fire, Moving and Handling.
  • Proven specialist skills and knowledge in relation to OT in Older People’s Service gained through a range of short specialist course and experience gained through working in multi-disciplinary or multi-agency teams.

The post is 5 days over 7 but predominately Monday to Friday. The team provide a seven day service over the winter months and a public holiday service to the acute assessment wards at GRI.
