Job Advert
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an occupational therapist to join our team.
From our hub base within Psychiatry of old Age at Murray Royal Hospital, we provide occupational therapy within both inpatient and community settings. We work flexibly to provide equitable service covering all localities within the Perth and Kinross Health and Social Care Partnership, with staff based in rural settings, Perth City, and acute services. This is a great opportunity for developing skill and knowledge in all aspects of occupational therapy practice with enhanced role opportunities to meet the occupation, performance and engagement needs of the client group.
We provide specialist occupational therapy to older adults with mental illness, including dementia. Our practice is holistic in its person centred approach when working with people who often have co morbidities and complex mental health, cognitive and physical health needs. We focus on rehabilitation, recovery and empowerment, helping people to achieve the best possible outcomes through collaboration and carer involvement.
We use occupation as the foundation of our work with people as a basis for bringing value and purpose to their lives. This may involve the use of specialist assessment, current evidence based treatments or techniques to support decision making, goal achievement, empowerment through independence and recovery where possible. We strive to push the boundaries of our own practice to ensure we are innovative and up to date.
Please apply if you -
have a knowledge of occupational therapy models and policy relevant to mental health and older adults
have a desire to continue to learn and build your own knowledge base and experience
have excellent communication skills
have innovative ideas for service development
