We are recruiting an additional 100 Call Operators to support the increased service demand over the winter period. You will be able to commit to a 3 day intense training programme, and after successfully completing this you will be working as a Call Operator, receiving calls from patients who have or may be suffering from a pre-determined symptoms, some even with the symptoms of the Coronavirus. You will need to listen sensitively and communicate clearly and accurately. Patients you speak to may be anxious or upset, and rely on you to instil confidence with your enthusiastic, focused and professional approach to every call.
You will have excellent communication skills, a great telephone manner, be confident navigating through different IT systems, follow procedures and protocols and have resilience to work under pressure. Also, a high level of attention to detail is required to ensure timely and accurate recording of information.
These are temporary posts until March 2022, with the potential to be extended. After gaining experience as a Call Operator, toward the end of this year, there will be an opportunity to apply to progress to a permanent Call Handler role.
