We are looking for one trainee Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our friendly team based at Ninewells Hospital in Dundee. 


The individual appointed will be directly involved in the Nuclear Medicine and PET/CT service based at Ninewells Hospital with rotation to both areas. The Nuclear Medicine facility includes 3 SPECT/CT gamma cameras and a dedicated on-site Radiopharmacy and Laboratory where a range of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures are undertaken.   A period of time will be spent in the Radiopharmacy and Labs.


Staff will complete the Institute of Physics and Engineering in Medicine Diploma, during the 2 year training period, to gain eligibility for entry to the Register of Clinical Technologists. Successful applicants will be expected to keep a work based experience portfolio and pass a VIVA via the Institute of Physics and Engineering in Medicine at the end of the two year period. A departmental mentor will be appointed and an external moderator will visit the department to check on the applicant’s progress. Successful applicants will then move to the AFC Band 6 if appropriate.


Applicants may enter the profession at Band 5, through Annexe 21paragraph*2 (ii), within a range of levels of qualification and experience. However, the qualification must be a scientific degree, for example: biological sciences, physics, biology and/or chemistry.
