Job Advert
Grade: Clinical Fellowship
Department: Paediatric Cardiology
Location: Royal Hospital for Children, Glasgow
An opportunity has arisen to undertake a 12 month Clinical Fellowship in Paediatric Cardiology with a training interest in electrophysiology, commencing September 2021 or as soon as possible thereafter. This post is based at the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow, with training also provided at the Golden Jubilee National Hospital. The post is suitable for applicants in the advanced stages of paediatric cardiology training and who are developing a special interest in electrophysiology.
All hospital sites at which the Fellow will train are GMC-approved for the delivery of paediatric cardiology training. The successful applicant will be enrolled on Turas, the Scotland Deanery training platform. Whilst the post does not carry a National Training Number (NTN) and is not a Locum Area Training (LAT) post, the training it offers is closely mapped to the UK paediatric cardiology curriculum and it delivers the requisite training for accreditation in both general paediatric cardiology and electrophysiology at CCT level. It has been approved for this purpose by National Education for Scotland (NES) and the Specialist Advisory Committee (SAC) for Paediatric Cardiology at the Joint Royal College of Physicians Training Board (JRCPTB).
To practise medicine in the UK applicants must hold both GMC full registration and a Licence to Practise.
