Applications are invited for full-time posts for two Consultants in Addictions Psychiatry.  One post is working across the Integrated Drugs Service and Integrated Alcohol Service and the second post is working within the Integrated Alcohol Service. Both are based within the Aberdeen City Health and Social Care Partnership. Become an important part of our team, at the heart of delivering high quality, patient-centred care for the half-million people who live in Grampian

Aberdeen is well known for its superb quality of life and enjoys first class amenities, housing and schools. Aberdeenshire includes some of the most spectacular countryside in Europe with Royal Deeside and the Cairngorm Mountain National Park and a wide range of outdoor pursuits within easy reach of the city. There are excellent connections with other British cities and the continent, flying time to London is one hour with regular daily flights - and road and rail links are easily accessible.

It will be based predominantly within the Royal Cornhill Hospital, Aberdeen but will work across other city sites. The successful candidates will be joining multidisciplinary substance use team which includes nursing, social work, pharmacy, third sector and occupational therapy. The work will include out-patient work but with close working with colleagues within inpatient mental health, acute general health and primary care services and prison settings.

Candidates must have a higher medical qualification (MBChB or equivalent

Those trained in the UK should have evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT or be within 6 months of confirmed entry on the GMC Specialist Register from date of interview. 

Alternatively, applicants should possess a CESR / CESR (CP).    

Applications from doctors with appropriate specialist training and experience who are not listed on the GMC Specialist Register can be considered for a Locum Consultant post (up to 12 months) if no substantive Consultant appointment is made.  Whilst in locum employment, an application to obtain a CESR / CESR (CP) and entry onto the Specialist Register can be made.
