We have an exciting and challenging programme management post within our small, enthusiastic Public Health Team, in partnership with Cairngorms National Park Authority. Working across the National Park this post will operate throughout the area therefore the post holder must be able to combine working from different locations (including from home as appropriate) with travel around the area.
As part of the Heritage Horizons programme “Cairngorms 2030: People and Nature Thriving Together”, this Strategic Green Health Development Manager will lead the development and implementation of a strategic programme of work covering the geographical area of the Cairngorms National Park Authority. The post will ensure the development of a broad-reaching, locally relevant Green Health Strategy for the National Park, its residents and visitors, and the effective delivery of national and local policies, and deliver the public health functions around health gain through the outdoor environment.
The post will provide support where required, to the public health elements of the £43 million Heritage Horizons Cairngorms 2030 programme of work. You will have a firm understanding of the principles and practice of Public Health/Health Improvement, including communicating messages about health, and also have a strong awareness of the effects inequalities have on health. You will demonstrate high levels of partnership development and have a track record of supporting multi agency collaboration, including health services and community organisations. You will possess a degree or equivalent and / or post graduate qualification in education, health, social work, community development or another related or relevant discipline.
This post will involve working from a range of locations, including significant time working from home/remotely, with presence as required at Larch House in Inverness (NHSH Public Health base) and sites across the CNPA region.
