There is an opportunity is available for fixed term/1 year secondment within the SCN role in Dunure Ward, Ailsa Hospital.  Dunure Ward is seeking an enthusiastic and skilled RMN with management experience to join our team of highly engaged and experienced staff in the role of Acting SCN. 

Dunure Ward is a 16 bed ward which cares for people over 65 with complex functional mental health issues and also has a slow rehabilitation function.  You should have a positive and hopeful attitude towards maximising quality of life for service users with complex mental health needs, including behaviour that challenges and treatment resistive mental illness.    

You will be currently working as a RMN and ideally possess a full driving license.  You will have excellent communication skills and team working ability and be able to undertake a comprehensive assessment of people with complex mental health needs.   

You will have a commitment to collaborative working and to maintaining the highest standard of professional behaviours within your team and leading by example in your role as ward manager.  You will prioritise team support, clinical supervision and leading reflective practice as key to your leadership approach and to achieving the highest standard of care in this busy, stimulating and sometimes challenging environment.  You will have excellent leadership skills and be able to evidence a commitment to the highest standards of patient care and staff support.

You will have excellent organisational and time management skills and will have the opportunity to develop further in these areas in this development post.  You will display a willingness to further develop your leadership skills, embrace and lead quality improvement initiatives in the ward and undertake further training opportunities to expand your knowledge in therapeutic and management skills relevant to the remit of the ward and your development needs. You will have experience in, an understanding of and interest in leadership skills such as managing change and conflict resolution.  You will be able to evidence ongoing professional development towards a senior management role.

Fixed term/Secondment for 12 months

Driving Licence is desireable
