This post requires the post holder to have a PVG Scheme membership/ record. If the post holder is not a current PVG member for the required regulatory group (i.e. child and/or adult) then an application will need to be made to Disclosure Scotland and deemed satisfactory before they can begin in post.
Under the direction of the Bladder and Bowel Nurse Specialists, the post holder is responsible and accountable for the assessment and delivery of quality continence care within NHS Lothian. This will mainly involve working with patients and staff in primary care but input to other areas may be expected. The post holder will monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of their interventions.
The post holder will participate in the delivery of formal and informal continence education to staff involved in the personal care of patients.
The post holder is responsible for raising awareness of health and social well being, influencing the broader context, enabling people to improve their own health and working collaboratively to tackle health inequalities.
