An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced community mental health nurse to work within our newly developing Urgent/Emergency Care Mental Health Service in the beautiful rural location of Lochaber. A pilot scheme is being launched to provide a seven-day service in this area.
You should be able to work in a creative and compassionate way, under guidance from the Urgent/Emergency care practitioners, to provide high quality support to people who present in mental health crisis to A & E/Police Colleagues within your locality. You will be highly skilled in assessment and treatment of mental health issues. Excellent communication, interpersonal and time management skills are essential. A good understanding and experience of assessing risk will be required. Ability to formulate and deliver plans of care is essential.
You will be motivated in working within this field to deliver a responsive and compassionate person centred, high quality urgent/emergency care response. Multi-disciplinary working and communication is essential to this post and you will be required to build excellent working relationships with our partners such as police colleagues and A & E departments in order to facilitate safe discharge plans.
This post will require you to provide a vital supporting role to the other Urgent Care practitioners and the wider care team. This includes working over a seven-day period alongside your colleagues.
You will need to demonstrate effective multi-disciplinary working, and feel confident in working as an integral member of the extended care team to ensure safe and effective care within the community.
