As part of East and West Regions commitments to improving both Scheduled & Unscheduled Care service delivery, we are seeking to recruit to a number of Hospital Ambulance Liaison Officers across both Regional areas. This is a combination of temporary posts until 31st March 2022 and a 2 year fixed term post. The 2 year fixed term post is within East Region with both East and West recruiting to multiple HALO posts across the Regions.
The post holders will be required to operate from various Hospital sites across the identified Region. They will work in partnership with the hospitals to develop and improve processes with the aim of improving patient flow which in turn will improve both PTS performance and hospital turnaround times for A&E departments.
Developing relationships between Health Board colleagues, ACC staff and Operational vehicle crew staff will be an essential element in ensuring the success of this role. This will also aid the development of joint initiatives to overcome barriers to patient flow and improve the overall patient experience improving scheduled care utilization, flexibility and performance standards and well as A&E hospital turnaround times.
The post holder will provide cover over 7 days which may on occasion, include weekend working for which the appropriate level of unsocial hour payments are applicable.
The Person
- Successful applicants should ideally have a range of experience that includes;
- Operational vehicle crew experience in either Scheduled or Unscheduled Care.
- Trained in or have knowledge of the CLERIC system.
- The ability to work collaboratively with colleagues in SAS and Territorial Health Boards.
- The ability to collect Data and be able to develop a reporting system identifying trends, key components of patient flow and SAS interactions is essential.
Candidates should be able to demonstrate a good basic knowledge of Service policies and procedures relating to the above post and show an ability to work effectively under pressure and with minimal supervision.
A clear understanding of service requirements should be demonstrated along with the ability and willingness to identify and address performance related issues is an essential element.
The successful candidates will be required to operate on their own initiative liaising with NHS Boards and SAS colleagues with the aim of improving performance across the territorial areas. A clear focus on service improvement is required.
