Job Advert
In support of our core purpose of Working together to achieve the healthiest life possible for everyone in Ayrshire and Arran we are committed to a culture that is Caring Safe and Respectful. The post holder is required to work collaboratively in a safe, caring and respectful way.
The Isle of Arran is the 7th largest island in Scotland and is often described as 'Scotland in Miniature' due to its mountainous north and rolling lowlands to the south of the island. Arran is separated from mainland Ayrshire by an hour long ferry crossing from Ardrossan to Brodick, and in summer, by a shorter ferry from Kintyre to Lochranza. Although located off the west coast of Scotland you can still travel by public transport to Glasgow in two hours. Arran's stable population is approximately 5000 which increases 4 fold during the summer months. As well as having stunning scenery the island offers a wide range of outdoor activities and experiences.
Dynamic and forward thinking, Arran has a range of health and social care provision including a 12 bedded hospital providing care to a diverse patient population on an inpatient and outpatient basis, including Accident and Emergency services, day therapies and outpatient clinics. Patient care services are provided by a wide range of clinicians from both Primary, Community and Social Care settings and plans for integrating our teams and providing integrated care are expanding and developing quickly on the island.
As a Staff Nurse you will join our team of staff providing care to patients within all of the potential care settings, with a focus on the hospital team but able to also support the community nurse team. You will be first level Registered Nurses who will be able to provide evidence of work experience in a variety of acute clinical and community care settings. You will be required to work on all shift patterns and provide care in all general areas within the hospital as well as working out in the community.
A driving licence is essential for this post.
