The Fife Musculoskeletal (MSK) Physiotherapy and Advanced Practice Orthopaedic team has a growing reputation for innovation and its transformative philosophy.  In keeping with this ethos we have developed two new and exciting Orthopaedic clinical lead roles in collaboration with our Orthopaedic Service.

We are looking to recruit two experienced and enthusiastic HCPC registered Physiotherapists to provide expert clinical management and leadership within our Advanced Practice Orthopaedic Outpatient Service.  You will be expected to work autonomously and carry a complex clinical caseload at advanced practice level, liaise with service managers, orthopaedic and rheumatology consultants, General Practitioners, nurse practitioners and physiotherapists to provide, monitor and develop an integrated advanced Orthopaedic service provision.  

Whilst the role will predominately be located within Orthopaedic Outpatient settings, you will also liaise with primary care colleagues to ensure robust information, advice and sign-posting for General Practitioners and community physiotherapists to help support the Orthopaedic Service’s roll out of Active Clinical Referral Triage (ACRT) and Patient Initiated Review (PIR).

You will be expected to work across NHS Fife.  The advanced practice roles are expected to expand in Fife over the next few years and flexibility to travel around the Fife area is required, depending on the needs of the service.

You must have an excellent knowledge base regarding the management of musculoskeletal/orthopaedic conditions and previous practical experience at highly specialist or advanced practice physiotherapy level in the area of musculoskeletal physiotherapy is essential.  Previous experience working as an Advanced Practice Physiotherapists in Orthopaedics or Neurosurgery would be desirable.

Post 1 requires an interest and previous experience in upper limb conditions, including hands.
Post 2 requires an interest and previous experience in spinal conditions.

Injection therapy experience is also essential and prescribing qualifications would be desirable.  Experience of teaching undergraduates and junior staff and evidence of effective clinical leadership are essential.  You will be motivated, possess excellent communication skills and have a willingness to be an active team player.
