This is an opportunity to be part of the frontline team delivering Covid-19 and seasonal flu vaccinations within NHS Fife. You will be employed as a Health Care Support Worker (HCSW) responsible for preparing and administering vaccine in a number of settings within clinics operating up to 8am to 8pm, seven days per week. 
In particular, you will be responsible for:
•    Setting up of the vaccination station
•    Reconstituting the vaccine (vaccine dependent)
•    Preparing single doses of the vaccine for administration (vaccine dependent)
•    Administering the vaccine
•    Adhering to infection control practices, including PPE use
•    Disposing of clinical waste as per local and national protocols and guidelines
•    Adhering to data protection and information governance standards
•    Demonstrating care and compassion to patients, carers and relatives to help ensure high quality person centred patient care is delivered at all times
You should hold record of achievement of education and training to Level 6/7 of the Scottish Credit and Qualification Framework e.g: SVQ, modern apprenticeship, higher national certificate and with experience as a HCSW or work within a health and social care setting demonstrable. Existing students with experience in health care setting through undergraduate training programmes would also be considered. Where formal qualification does not exist you should demonstrate relevant, knowledge, skills and competence within a health and social care setting or within a setting where person-centred care is evident.
There will be a period of education and supervision on entry in to the post including completion of Covid-19 NHS Education for Scotland Promoting Effective Immunisation Practice, understanding and following SOPs including vaccine preparation and administration, recognition of the signs of anaphylaxis and basic life support.  Initially you will work with a registered health care practitioner under supervision until evidence of vaccine proficiency is attained. Once proficient in vaccination you will form part of the multidisciplinary vaccination team where registered health care professionals will always be present.
We are seeking candidates available to work for 6 months on a fixed term contract or secondment opportunity, with potential extension. The ability to travel to clinics throughout Fife will be required.
