We welcome applications for the post of Principal Clinical Psychologist within Skye House, the West of Scotland Adolescent Regional Psychiatry Inpatient Unit, a 24 bed facility for young people (12 – 17 years old) with complex mental health difficulties who require inpatient care (located at Stobhill Hospital).  This is an exciting time to join our large multidisciplinary team as we strive to ensure our service and staff are trauma informed and as we continue to improve our care pathways for young people and their carers.
This post requires you to provide a highly specialist psychology service for young people and their carers directly and indirectly such as through training, consultation and supervision to non-psychology colleagues on psychological aspects of care. You will also participate in service development and improvement work and undertake relevant audit, evaluation and research work.   This post requires you to have close links and involvement with the multidisciplinary team and mutli-agency colleagues throughout the region.  Supervision and management support would be provided by the Consultant Clinical Psychologist within the team with access to very experienced and committed clinicians from a variety of disciplines.
The post is 30 hours but additional hours may be available.
The shift pattern for this post is Within Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm
You would be part of the GGC network of some 60 psychologists working in Specialist Children’s Services with links to the University of Edinburgh MSc course in Applied Psychology for Children and Young People and the University of Glasgow doctoral training course in Clinical Psychology. You must hold a post graduate doctoral level degree in clinical psychology and be eligible for registration as a clinical psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council. You should possess significant clinical psychology practice experience in the NHS supervised by a clinical psychologist and also have experience of teaching, training and providing consultation to and clinical supervision of others.
