We are looking for AHP Support Workers to join our Community rehabilitation team of physiotherapists and occupational therapists working in Dundee.
The Healthcare support worker (HCSW) band 4 provides physiotherapy/occupational therapy to clients referred to the Community Rehabilitation team - as directedby - and under the supervision of - a qualified Occupational Therapist / Physiotherapist. The post holder will contribute to working with a client at an intermediaterehabilitation unit; this may also include working in groups or classes held in a community setting; as well as seeing clients in their own home.
The focus of the Community Rehabilitation team is to treat people over the age of 65 years of age; however younger patients will be seen if they fit the criteria for referral (16 years upwards). The Support Worker provides a variety of interventions including functional activities including self care, active exercises, outdoor mobility practice, education in use of walking aids and kitchen practice under the supervision of a qualified staff member.
Previous experience within a care setting is essential. The successful candidate must have excellent communication skills, written and verbal. Teamwork is an essential component of this post. IT skills are desirable. Previous experience within primary care and secondary care environments is essential.
Your performance must comply with the national “Mandatory Induction Standards for Healthcare Support Workers 2009” and with the Code of Conduct for Healthcare Support Workers.
