Job Advert

We are seeking to recruit enthusiastic and motivated CAAPS to join our team in NHS Forth Valley CAMHS. Successful candidates would join our recently redesigned psychology resource and would also welcome applications from candidates nearing qualification and/or part-time workers.

We have opportunities for successful candidates to work in the areas of:

· Core CAMHS - Tier 3 (including Early Intervention)

· Paediatric Psychology

NHS Forth Valley CAMHS is a well established service with a newly appointed management team (including the Head of Child Psychology) that works in both inpatient and community settings and has close links with partner agencies and mental health services. We offer multiple therapeutic modalities including: CBT, IPT, FBT, Systemic Family Therapy, EMDR, Art Therapy and ACT, which are professionally governed by Psychological Services, NHS Forth Valley.

We support children and young people aged from 0 to 18 years and their carers/families and offer a range of highly specialist psychological assessments and interventions, which often includes multi-agency work with our partners. As part of a programme of transformational change, we are currently implementing CAPA and designing a stand-alone NDD service with the aim of placing the needs of children and young people at the centre of the partnerships we establish with families.

These posts are a great opportunity to be part of a re-developed service and the post holders will play a role in offering specific partnership work in relation to increasing access to psychological interventions locally. Thus, we are looking for individuals that are passionate about evidence based, person centred and collaborative practice.

Candidates must have a Psychology Degree or equivalent, with a Masters qualification in Applied Psychology with Children & Young People and have experience of working with children and young people in a CAMHS setting. Knowledge of psychological theory and models of application is essential along with a sound knowledge of research methodology and data collection. It is vital that you have knowledge of pertinent policy and legislation impacting on children and families as well as excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal and IT skills. It would be to your advantage to have experience as a qualified Clinical Associate (Children & Young People) and to have relevant knowledge acquired through additional training and/or experience, however we welcome applications from candidates nearing qualification.

NHS Forth Valley Psychology staff receive regular clinical supervision and robust and supportive line management and job planning. As part of job planning, all staff are supported to develop and establish areas of specialist clinical interest and undertake supervision, leadership, quality improvement and project management CPD or training. We also have a varied in-house programme of clinical CPD and we have very good links with national bodies and close links with training courses. We host trainees from both Doctoral and MSc courses.

For informal enquiries contact: Dr Jennifer Robertson, Consultant Clinical Psychologist, or Dr Sharon Horne-Jenkins, Head of CAMHS Psychology, on 01786 454546 or 01324 610846.

The duties of this post require the successful candidate to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme.  More information on this scheme can be found at www.disclosurescotland.co.uk
