Job Advert

This posts presents an opportunity to join the Ayrshire & Arran Trauma & Orthopaedic team at a very exciting time. We are due to reconfigure services on 30 August with all trauma being based at University Hospital Crosshouse and inpatient adult elective surgery being undertaken at University Hospital Ayr. Outpatient activity and day case procedures are delivered on both sites.  All paediatric orthopaedic in-patient and day cases are delivered from the UHC site.

University Hospital Ayr is a 320 bedded general hospital located to the south east of the town of Ayr. University Hospital Crosshouse is a 511 bedded general hospital located just out-with Kilmarnock in East Ayrshire.

Both hospitals are easily accessed by road, with the M77 providing rapid access to Glasgow (30 minutes from UHC, 45 minutes from UHA). Rail services also link both Kilmarnock and Ayr to Glasgow and other surrounding towns. Prestwick Airport lies midway between both hospitals, approximately a 15 minute drive to each. Both UHC and UHA provide free car parking facilities.

You will contribute to the middle grade rota and will work across both sites contributing to the trauma and elective services respectively. You will have dedicated outpatients clinics and will be joining a team of 21 consultants and 5 Specialty Doctors / Associate Specialist. We also have an extensive team of advanced physio practitioners.

You will be supported to develop sub-specialty interests and will be well supported by inclusive team.
