Our expanding Occupational therapy service and current developments within Midpark presents an opportunity to employ an advanced clinical Practice Occupational therapist to support advanced clinical decision making. We are looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic and highly motivated individual to join our team. This post covers inpatient services at Midpark Hospital, and you will take the clinical lead in the delivery and development of a specialist Occupational therapy service within inpatients. 

You will be educated to or working towards MSc level, experienced in working within an inpatient mental health setting, and keen to thrive in a role that offers you the variety of working with a complex caseload of both older and younger adults with mental health issues whilst developing clinical skills and knowledge of others. You will be able to articulate and demonstrate Occupational Therapy’s unique and valued contribution to inpatient services. You will have experience and knowledge in research, development and you will have the necessary skills, knowledge and experience to provide:
•    Strong leadership, supervision, consultation  and mentorship- you will act as a positive role model
•    Advanced Occupational therapy clinical assessment, intervention, decision making and positive risk taking
•    Research and Development and Quality improvement be able to work strategically and have the ability to shape and influence service delivery
•    Professional accountability

You will clinical lead on development and evaluation of clinical services within this team
and will:
      
•    Work closely with operational OT team leaders
•    Work as in integral team member of the multi-disciplinary inpatient service, shaping and influencing complex decision making both clinically and strategically

You will be expected to represent the Dumfries & Galloway Mental Health Occupational Therapy service in appropriate local and national forums as directed by the Occupational therapy Service Manager.
