This is a Head & Neck specialty ward which delivers emergency and elective care to patients with head & neck conditions and provide airway services for UHC. This post will ensure that we continue to deliver a high standard of unscheduled and elective care to our patients.
You will demonstrate a keen interest in the care of Head & Neck / Surgical patients and show evidence of ongoing professional development in these areas. In addition experience within a medical specialty would be beneficial as Ward 5A has recently increased to 30 beds to provide medical and Covid capacity within UHC.
As a Staff Nurse you will integrate into the Head & Neck multidisciplinary team following a period of departmental training. Overall experience within an appropriate clinical environment is essential together with suitable knowledge and training.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, MDT working and time-management skills with a willingness to undertake further study in these fields is essential. The ward has a proactive approach to staff development and has a comprehensive competency programme in place for new staff to support this.
This post has 3x 37.5 and 2x 34.5 hour permanent vacancies.
