We are looking to appoint 2 highly organised, efficient, and knowledgeable Recruitment Advisors who will embrace the challenge of working in a NHS Recruitment Service supporting a multi-site organisation with a fast-paced working environment.

We are seeking motivated and highly driven individuals to join our Medical and Dental Recruitment Team to deliver a high quality, comprehensive and customer focused recruitment admistrative service to Doctors & Dentists currently within NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde or outwith.

Our ideal candidate will demonstrate experience of working in either a Recruitment or HR environment and be experienced in Recruitment Applicant Tracking /HR systems.

Candidates will be able to demonstrate excellent customer service skills, preferably with knowledge of NHS Scotland terms and conditions of employment and possess strong communication skills to enable effective communication with NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde service managers and clinicians at all levels of the organisation.

The main focus of the role is to provide highly skilled  recruitment administrative support for all Medical and Dental recruitment, selection and onboardig tasks associated with  arranging and facilitating end to end  Recruitment processes as well as supporting with the trainee doctors West of Scotland rotations.

About the opportunity

The successfully appointed candidates for either the permanent or fixed time post will handle a range of recruitment, selection and on boarding activity for Medical and Dental appointments covering: 

  • Delivering effective and responsive recruitment administration service for the recruitment of primarily training grade doctors and dentists.
  • Being a contact point for medical and dental recruitment queries for both candidates and NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde service managers, clinicians  and other West of Scotland NHS Boards.


  • Administering the recruitment process; posting job adverts, coordinating interviews, meeting candidates managing the on-boarding process; Immigration Right to Work checks, Referencing, Occupational Health, Disclosure Scotland /PVG checks and Professional Registration checks.


  • Working closely with our internal Hiring Managers to ensure we are recruiting for any upcoming gaps within our medical and dental rotas

Duties include ,but are not limited to, working closely with our hiring managers and clinicians /clinical leads and their staff, internal and external interview panel members and job applicants in handling vacancy requests to hire, scheduling and administering interviews, carrying out pre-employment checks, processing contracts of employment and facilitating new start payroll engagement processes.

As a part of your role you will manage and administer the end to end recruitment process for your caseload of vacancies across medical and dental appointments including locum appointments and specialist appointments such as honorary contracts.

Person Specification

As NHS Grater Glasgow and Clyde has a high level of recruitment activity for all grades of medical and dental staffing you will need to be highly organised with the ability to prioritise effectively. You will show good attention to detail, be accurate and passionate about providing superb customer service to all those who come into contact with the Recruitment service.

We are looking to appoint an exceptional individual who will bring experience of working successfully in a high volume and fast paced Recruitment/HR role with experience of using Recruitment Applicant Tracking and HR systems /IT systems. You must also be competent in a variety of IT packages such as Microsoft Office including Word and Excel.

Previous experience of working with NHS Medical & Dental national terms and conditions, is desirable, along with a good working knowledge of NHSScotland Applicant Tracking system (Jobtrain)  and /eESS ( Employee Staff /HR system )

With a positive approach to busy workloads we are seeking a candidate who will bring to the role a good understanding of pre-employment compliance employment screening processes including Immigration Right to Work checks. 

The roles require motivated, passionate and driven individuals who will relish the opportunity to work in a customer-focused Recruitment team.

It is also an essential requirement to demonstrate an ability to operate as part of an integrated team and at the same time manage your own work priorities, meet tight deadlines, and deliver the priorities of a time efficient Recruitment service. This role requires an exceptional individual who will demonstrate commitment to a customer service ethos and practice and be able to work well under pressure, with strong organisational skills and be able to manage and prioritise an extremely varied, busy and often unpredictable workload.


Reporting to and working closely with your assigned Recruitment Team Lead you will contribute to the provision of an efficient and effective recruitment service and will be a key contact point for NHS service hiring managers and clinicians for issues pertaining to the recruitment and selection of NHS medical and dental staff.

It is essential that you will have a keen eye for detail along with proven experience and evidence of success in delivering effectively within a high volume fast paced recruitment /HR administrative function. Previous experience of NHS/healthcare recruitment and selection is desirable.

As this post will bring you into direct contact with job applicants, NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde  service   managers, clinicians and staff participating in recruitment and selection it is essential that you can evidence excellent communication, listening and interpersonal skills.
