An exciting opportunity has arisen for innovative individual to work as a Children and Young People’s Learning Disability Nurse within the Learning Disability Nursing Service supporting the senior nurses. We are seeking highly motivated nurses who will embrace the challenge of this dynamic service.
You will be a 1st level registered nurse in Learning Disability, Mental Health or children’s nurse, holding current NMC registration. Post registration experience working with children with learning disabilities is desirable but not essential. Experience working with individuals with a learning disability is essential. You must have the ability to work across professional boundaries, a strong team work ethic and the aspiration to develop your own clinical skills.
We are looking for a highly motivated nurse with excellent interpersonal skills who has a desire to engage in continuous personal development. The role involves providing specialist assessment, care planning, and care evaluation to children and young people with a learning disability who require additional support with mental illness, autism, challenging behaviour or ADHD.
You should have excellent communication skills to work with the wider Health and Social Care Team, Education and Voluntary Agencies with the ability to work autonomously, utilising your own initiative and clinical judgement within the scope of your post whilst liaising directly with the senior nurses. As this is a community post you will also be required to travel across Fife.
