Associate Medical Director (Primary and Urgent Care) - Permanent
Salary Dependent on Experience
This is an exciting opportunity to provide senior medical leadership within the Scottish Ambulance Service (SAS). SAS provides both emergency and urgent care in every part of the country and there is an identified need to strengthen SAS response to patients who present with Urgent Care needs.
The role of SAS has been expanding as more people with complex needs are living in our communities and often turn to the ambulance service for help, and it is vital that SAS supports its staff to deliver high quality care out with hospital pathways as well as continue to deliver high quality emergency response.
This role will support SAS care delivery both from within our Ambulance Control Centres and by our front line Paramedics and Technicians.
SAS must work across the whole health and care system and as AMD for Primary and Urgent Care the post holder will be required to engage with Board, Health and care Partners and influence strategic decisions and operational practice.
As a senior clinical lead, you will work within a well-established Clinical Directorate contributing to a range of clinical work streams, and applicants will be able to demonstrate highly developed communication as well as clinical skills and knowledge.
Applicants must be on the GMC GP Register with 5 years post registration experience, have significant expertise in the design and operational delivery of primary and community care. Have a track record of leadership and change and have a determination to improve the way in which health and care provision is delivered across the whole system.
The post is part-time at 0.5WTE (5 PAs)
The successful candidate will either be employed directly by the Scottish Ambulance Service, or a hosting arrangement with their current employer will be agreed.
