This post is for a Physician Associate under Annex 21. 

For Annex 21 candidates please note this will be for 3 year and 1st years salary will be 65% at the top of the Band 7 salary scale. ​​​​​​​Ann 

The post will be based at ​​​​​​​University Hospital Hairmyres Emergency Department and the speciality is Unscheduled Care.


​​​​​​​We have an exciting opportunity for a Physician Associate to join our Emergence Department at University Hospital Hairmyres

The post holder will deliver high quality, evidence based clinical care in the Emergency Medicine, working autonomously as part of a multi-disciplinary team and under the supervision of the Relevant Consultants and work towards the achievement of NHS Lanarkshire goals and targets. The post holder will participate in teaching, audit and research where appropriate.

The successful applicant will be nominated a ‘Lead Supervisory Consultant’.

The post holder will practice medicine according to high standards of professional behaviour and will be involved in the further development of new systems of working, particularly in relation to developing the’ PA role’.


KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED TO DO THE JOB

​​​​​​​

 First degree or equivalent.

 Graduation from an accredited Masters or equivalent Physician Associate programme

 Experience of working in a clinical environment.

 Pass certifying exam for physician associates

 Excellent interpersonal skills with patients and other healthcare professionals

 Ability to communicate complex information both verbally and in writing
