Applications are invited from suitably experienced and motivated individuals to fill the new role of Point of Care Testing (POCT) Site Coordinators for NHS Lothian.
Based in the Department of Laboratory Medicine but working in a designated Hospital site this role will support the POCT Manager with an increasing number of POCT activities across Lothian.
Laboratory Medicine provides laboratory services to primary and secondary centres throughout Lothian. These services are currently delivered from 4 sites: the Western General Hospital (WGH), the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh (RIE) the Royal Hospital for Sick Children (RHSC) and St John’s Hospital. The laboratories receive over 2 million requests and 7 million tests per annum, and have approximately 503 WTE staff.
This post will involve provide the link between NHS Lothian POCT Committee, Directorates, POCT users within NHS Lothian, and the Laboratories
This is an exciting post to support the development, governance and effectiveness of POCT in NHS Lothian
