ADVANCED PHYSIOTHERAPY PRACTITIONER - ORTHOPAEDICS

BAND 8A

18.75 hours per week, Permanent

Salary Scale : Band 8A : £50,965 - £55,016 (Pro Rata)


The NHS Highland Orthopaedic Service is seeking an expert level, highly effective and motivated HCPC registered Physiotherapist to join the team of Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioners. 
As an Advanced Practice Physiotherapist, your role will be to provide assessment, management strategies and advice to patients with acute orthopaedic injuries, including referral for further investigations and interpretation where necessary. You will work with a patient group, often out-with the traditional Physiotherapy remit, and will make decisions about the appropriate management plan for each patient. You will also, as part of a team, be responsible for triaging the orthopaedic waiting list and running a regular fluroscopy guided hip injection clinic.
You will also provide leadership, clinical education and mentorship to the Physiotherapy staff within NHS Highland and will work closely with the Orthopaedic Service Manager and Consultants on the strategic development of the Advanced Physiotherapy Practice aspect of the Orthopaedic service. You will be responsible for implementing and leading on research, promoting evidence based practice within the service area, and ensuring we are a service that responds to national policy, initiatives and clinical governance.
You will be an excellent communicator with well developed teaching skills, and leadership qualities. You will also be a forward thinking team player, with a proven track record of innovative approaches in Physiotherapy practice, and demonstrable advanced skills and knowledge in management of Orthopaedic conditions. 
There will be opportunity to liaise with and work alongside other Advanced Practice Physiotherapists in Orthopaedics to further develop effective patient pathways in NHS Highland. We are committed to continuous professional development and involvement with National networks is strongly encouraged.
