The post is within a specialist multidisciplinary team setting. You will be required to provide assessment and diagnosis, alongside supporting people with autism and the important people in their lives, to develop and deliver psycho-educational programmes to autistic people in collaboration with other agencies as appropriate, to provide consultancy service and expert advice to a range of disciplines and other service areas across NHSGG&C, and to participate in research and development when requested.
It is essential that you hold a professional qualification from nursing, speech and language therapy or occupational therapy and have significant experience of working with people with autism, including participating in diagnostic assessment. You should be familiar and competent in the IT skills necessary for completing reports, audits and using electronic patient records. It is necessary that you have a proven ability to work well as a part of a multi-disciplinary team. It would be desirable that you have knowledge and experience of working in mental health and learning disability services, have accreditation in using one or more diagnostic tools and have a post graduate qualification in Autism. There are full time and part time posts available with this vacancy.
