CLINICAL MANAGER
HMP PORTERFIELD, HEALTHCARE DEPARTMENT
Band 7: £40,872 to £47,846
37.5 hours per week – Full Time, Permanent
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 RGN / RMN to lead the Healthcare Team within HMP Inverness. The post holder must have 4 years' experience at Band 6 level, demonstrate leadership experience and have a definite interest in Healthcare within a prison setting. Nurse Prescribing is desirable but not essential.
This role is expected to provide clinical leadership, professional development and line management of the prison healthcare team. Working in collaboration with a variety of departments both within the prison, local hospital and community settings. Partnership working with Police Scotland. Attending local and national meetings in relation to Prison Healthcare.
Ensure all nursing staff are aware of, and work within, NHS Highland policies and procedures to ensure that safe working practices are maintained for both patients and staff. Propose changes to policies/procedures and working practices within own area. Creating audits to gather evidence for service improvements and evaluating and presenting results. Providing prison nursing cover for and arranging and supporting staff training.
Utilising systems such as SSTS, Bank Rostering system, EES, Jobtrain. Completing the duty roster.
